About Us
Begun in 2017, VLUK Stagedoor Cheltenham Campus takes a uniquely vocational approach to Performing Arts Education. We believe that the best place to learn about the theatre is in the theatre. This is why we have teamed up with the Everyman Theatre, to offer our students the best chance to learn about the Performing Arts Industry from the inside. No other 6th form course gives its students the same opportunities to get stuck in at a professional working theatre.
Jenny Cameron
Jenny has been teaching for over 20 years. She graduated from the University of Warwick with 2.1 BA (Hons) in English & Theatre Studies, and completed her PGCE at the same university in 1997. From there, she went on to teach in Warwickshire before moving to London to pursue acting. Following this, she taught in London, moving to Gloucestershire in 2004. She is a Specialist Leader in Education, was a TES Shortlisted Teacher of the Year, and was presented with the 2021 VLUK Award for Excellence in Professional Practice.
Prior to working for VLUK, highlights of Jenny’s teaching career included directing 120 Warwickshire students in a production at the Millennium Dome and working with the Almeida Theatre in London – undertaking projects which allowed students to write a script under the mentorship of award winning playwright David Eldridge and to learn from actors such as Jonny Lee Miller and Eddie Redmayne. As well as teaching, Jenny was the Education Consultant for the Touring Consortium Theatre Company, and is a Regional Champion for Open Drama UK.
Since 2017, highlights with VLUK Stagedoor Cheltenham have included our wonderful full scale musical productions The Battle of Boat (2019), The Legend of Sleepy Hollow (2020) and Brass (2021). as well as taking students to perform at The Egg in Bath, The Sherman in Cardiff and Bristol Old Vic as part of National Theatre Connections.

We are a short walk from Cheltenham town centre, just five minutes from the shops and parks in Montpellier and ten minutes from the Everyman Theatre.
