The highlight of week 3 involved Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and my favourite Blue Peter presenter Peter Duncan. It was Million Dollar Quartet week at the Everyman and the Stagedoor gang were certainly all shook up (Kelly’s joke, not mine, but very appropriate)

Million Dollar Quartet was actually the second show the gang got to watch in week 3. On Wednesday evening, they watched Pentabus’s production of Wolves Are Coming For You in the studio theatre, before meeting the cast for a Q&A session. Then on Thursday afternoon, the whole gang watched Million Dollar Quartet on the Everyman main stage, before meeting the cast for a Q&A and having a tour of the set. Stagedoor students were able to ask cast members about how it felt to play such iconic characters, how they prepared for their roles, what the audition process was, and, most importantly, whether Peter Duncan still does competitive trampolining (that was my question, I’ll be honest) The show was certainly a hit, with several of the group booking to go and see it again.

Because we work in partnership with the Everyman, our students are given opportunities that other schools and colleges cannot offer – we are in the perfect place to meet performers and crew, tour sets and see plays – it’s all part of the Stagedoor package, and comes at no cost to the students.
